American automobile manufacturer Buick was established back in 1899, making it one of the oldest car brands in the world and among the first of the American marques. David Dunbar Buick was a pioneer in the industry and had a part in producing the first two automobiles of the brand. The first cars were produced in Detroit, but then the brand was relocated to Flint, Michigan in 1904. This year is what many consider to be the “start” of the brand as production began to steadily increase. Buick was the company that established the General Motors Division in 1908, thanks to investor Billy Durant. Buick soon became the largest car maker in America. Throughout the brand’s history, Buick has been marketed as a premium automobile brand. Luxury cars have been produced and positioned above other brands owned by General Motors, apart from the Cadillac division of vehicles. Buick currently sells vehicles in North America and China, where almost 80% of cars produced are purchased. Some popular models throughout the years have included the LaCrosse, LeSabre, and Lucerne.
